This highly interactive programme has been aligned to the Fabrication & Welding Suite and the Performing Engineering Operations Suite, National Occupational Standards (NOS) so can be used for study towards certification. By using and completing this programme, it is expected that learners will be able to:

    Health and Safety at Work Act, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Safety Signs, COSHH, Substances Hazardous to Health, Working at Heights, Basic First Aid, Manual Handling, Risk Assessments, Fire Protection, Electrical Safety, Workplace Welfare, Provision and Use of Work Equipment, Managing Yourself and Working Relationships, Communication and Interpretation of Information, End Test.

  • Module 3: Engineering Materials

    Ferrous Metals, Non-Ferrous Metals, End Test.

  • Module 4: Oxyacetylene Welding

    Equipment and Set Up, The Welding Process, Quality Control, End Test.

  • Module 5: Manual Metal Arc (MMA) Welding

    Equipment and Set Up, The Welding Process, Quality Control, End Test.

  • Module 6: MIG Welding

    Equipment and Set Up, The Welding Process, Quality Control, End Test.

  • Module 7: TIG Welding

    Equipment and Set Up, The Welding Process, Quality Control, End Test.

  • Module 8: Metal Fabrication and Cutting

    Measuring and Marking Out, Material Removal Techniques, Forming Techniques, End Test.

  • Module 9: Quality Control

    Codes, Legislation and Standards, Production Monitoring, Testing and Inspecting, End Test.

  • E-Practical Scenario

    4x Interactive 3D virtual reality scenarios.
