Our E-Learning Technology

As a consortium, we have created a series of e-learning programmes and workbooks using a blended learning approach. Blended learning allows training to be delivered through different media such as books, e-learning (computer based training), practical workshops, and traditional classroom techniques. These training methods are designed to complement each other and work in tandem to achieve overall learning objectives and outcomes.

These e-learning programmes offer a different method of learning. With technology playing an increasingly important part of everyday life, e-learning uses visually rich 2D and 3D graphics/animation, audio, video, text and interactive quizzes, to allow learners to engage with the content and learn at their own pace and in their own time.

The exciting programmes comprise three steps:

  • Advanced e-learning with in-depth coverage of the subject matter. The learning material is prepared in an engaging way which encourages learners to progress as they interact and explore on-screen.

  • An "end test" assessment which provides feedback on both correctly and incorrectly answered questions. If answers are incorrect the learner is advised to revisit the learning materials they need to study further.

  • An e-practical scenario where the learner is given a number of work-based tasks to complete within a virtual reality environment. The technology allows the learner to make "real-life" decisions and mistakes in a completely safe situation. Learners readily understand the benefits of having completed the learning thoroughly, gain confidence and feel well prepared to face a real life work situation.
